Diploma of Beauty Therapy

Our most popular and highly recommended course is Diploma of Beauty Therapy. This is widely regarded in the Beauty Industry as the qualification most employers look for. Completing your Diploma will give you the widest range of job opportunities.

The Diploma gives you an in depth knowledge of all areas of Beauty Therapy and is a great foundation if you are considering university studies in paramedical aesthetics.

Areas of study include Anatomy and Physiology, Eye Treatments, Make-up (day, evening, wedding and photography), Reception Duties, Professionalism, Communication, Electrolysis and Diathermy, and much more.

As a bonus to our Diploma course, we offer students an opportunity to learn the latest Beauty Treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Spray Tanning, Tooth Gems, Introduction to Intense Pulsed Light and an Introduction to Cosmetic Physician Treatments. These are subjects rarely taught at other Beauty Schools.

This course is offered:

Full Time: 12 months 3 days per week
Part Time: 16 months 2 nights per week and one day a fortnight
Correspondence: 11 Self Paced Modules

Morayfield Campus:

Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy

This certificate course equips students with the knowledge and skills to become successful Beauty Therapists. Subjects include Waxing, Lash and Brow Treatments, Ear Piercing, Nutrition, Cosmetic Chemistry, Facial Treatments, Body Massage and much more.

This is a very comprehensive course however we generally encourage students to complete the Diploma of Beauty Therapy to obtain a full knowledge of Beauty Therapy, as Certificate IV does not include Day Spa Studies, Electrolysis, Diathermy or any of the bonus subjects.

This course is offered:

Full Time: 9 months 3 days per week
Part Time: 12 months 2 nights per week and one day a fortnight
Correspondence: 10 Self Paced Modules


Certificate III in Beauty Services

Students learn the knowledge and skills to become a successful Beautician and Nail Technician. Includes Waxing, Lash and Brow Treatments, Ear Piercing, Make-up Application and Acrylic and Gel Nail Enhancements, plus more.

This is a very popular course for students who would enjoy specialising in nails but would also like to be able perform other services in a salon such as Waxing, Tinting and Make-up. This increases a nail students prospects for gaining employment.

This course is offered:

Full Time: 3 days per week
Part Time: Flexible delivery


Certificate III in Nail Technology

This is our most popular and highly recommended nail course. Students learn the knowledge and skills to become a successful Nail Technician. This a very extensive course providing thorough training in both theory and practical areas of nail studies. It includes Acrylic and Gel Nails as well as Electrical Nail Equipment, Manicures, Pedicures, Nail Art and a wide range of business subjects to enable students to gain knowledge to be able to establish their own nail business.

This course is run regularly throughout the year and take approximately 6 months part time to complete.

Certificate II in Nail Technology

The Certificate II in Nail Technology is designed as an introduction into nail studies and it equips students with knowledge and skills to become successful Nail Technicians. This course offers a great introduction into Nail Technology. Subjects includes Manicures, Pedicures, Acrylic and Gel Nails and more.

Please note: If you are wishing to learn nail art, electrical nail equipment (the drill) or any business subjects you will need to complete Certificate III in Nail Technology.

This course is run regularly throughout the year and takes approximately 4 months part time to complete.

Correspondence - Pace yourself!

Katrinas School of Beauty offers students a flexible alternative to studying on campus. We provide a comprehensive correspondence study schedule, which will allow you to gain Accredited Beauty Therapy Qualifi cations from home.

We offer a program of 11 Modules for Diploma ideally completed over a period of 12 months.

Students are also required to attend Four to Five on-campus training weeks depending on the chosen course. Alternatively students who live in close proximity to either Brisbane/Morayfield or Townsville campus can attend practical days on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

We offer the option of attending either our Brisbane/Morayfield or Townsville campus to complete the practical requirements of the course. Practical training hours are a compulsory part of the course and will ensure you gain valuable hands on experience while studying your course.

We understand the challenges of studying by correspondence and are committed to providing you with any assistance you may require while studying with us.

Our administration staff and your trainers are contactable 5 days per week by phone or any time by email. When travelling to either the Brisbane/Morayfield or Townsville campus for your practical training weeks, we will help you with free transfers to and from the airport. We can also give you details about accommodation in the area.

We offer Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and
Diploma of Beauty Therapy as correspondence courses.

Your correspondence course can be started at any time convenient to you.

The course contains 10 Modules for our Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and 11 modules for our Diploma of Beauty Therapy. Each module is designed to take approximately 1 month to complete except Module 11, which is designed to take 2 months to complete.
